Investing pensions in equities: long term or long odds? 
 
So, who would want sit as a trustee on the investment committee of a pension scheme now? Is the FTSE on a cliff edge? Are bonds good value? Will inflation (RPI) exceed 5% p.a? What about Liability Driven Investments (LDI) and Socially Responsible Investing (SRI)?
 
Here is an article which reports on the '…maximium loss…' of current FTSE 100 companies '…in the event of adverse market movements'. One thing though: how do they know it is the maximum loss?
 
Knowing where to invest as well as matching your attitude to risk with your pension fund is an important part of your retirement planning. Yet another reason to put pension education towards the top of your must do list.
