Life Expectancy 2004-2006 Tables (Historic)
Expectation of Life, United Kingdom. Interim Life Tables. Produced by the Office of National Statistics (ONS)*. Based on data for the years 2004-2006. The table below shows the average life expectancy for males and females at the exact age in the left hand column.
Life expectancy can be affected by many factors including occupation (e.g. bomb disposal expert, window cleaner), social/geographic (e.g. inner city, rural), economic (e.g. poverty, wealth), lifestyle (e.g. handgliding, burgers), personal health (e.g. gym, 8 hrs TV per day) and family history etc.
The data relates to the whole population of the UK. i.e. those of all states of health and financial circumstances and takes into account all of the many other factors which bear upon mortality. Actual life expectancy for a particular individual is fairly meaningless, but if you are fortunate, there are many things you can do to extend the quality (and perhaps length) of your life.
